The Historic Houses Association of Australia (HHA) is a charity supporting owners of heritage properties, promoting preservation and interest in the built environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research and create articles to fulfil the material culture aspect of HHA’s constitution.

  • Assist in running events by ensuring Covid-Safe check in, assisting and guiding event guests.

  • Research and write articles about history according to principles of informative article writing for websites.

Key Achievements:

  • Independently researched and produced informative website articles on ancient history topics including ancient Mesopotamia, Elam, and the Hellenistic world.

GLAM SECTOR EXPERIENCE

Education Officer- Chau Chak Wing Museum

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and safely handle ancient and replica museum objects for use in hands-on object based learning activities.

  • Engage students in participatory learning, historic content, and thinking about museum practices. 

Key Acheivements: 

  • Researched and undertook training in a variety of historic content.

FEBURARY- MAY 2023

Internship- Chau Chak Wing Museum

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create an Object Based Learning (OBL) program aimed at Stage 6 students studying Modern and Ancient History about the site of Irrawang and its connections to Judy Birmingham and Sydney University. 

Key Achievements:

APRIL 2022- PRESENT

Tour Guide- Government House Sydney

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Provide interpretation of historical objects, people and events to engage various audiences. 

  • Cater tours to audiences of various English language understanding. 

  • Provide age-level appropriate tours and educational activities to school students. 

  • Undertake conservation cleaning of antique collections furniture and items, including wood and metal. 

  • Ensure damage to house and collection items is minimised via conservation techniques. 

  • Maintain high levels of house presentation.                                     

Key Achievements: 

  • Provided friendly, warm hospitality to house guests and visitors. 

  • Engaged audiences from a wide demographic background in the stories and history of New South Wales and Government House Sydney. 

  • Detected and removed threats to collections and house conservation, including mold, insects and humidity. 

  • Independently researched the house, collections, and relevant history to supplement tour knowledge.
